The NBA Draft is always a crap shoot. Sometimes GMs get it right, and other times they fail miserably. Here is my list of the top-10 worst selections ever made in the NBA Draft. You'll note that all of these are
10. Adam Morrison - Selected #3 overall by the Charlotte Bobcats. Brandon Roy, Rudy Gay, Rajon Rondo, and Paul Millsap.
9. Marvin Williams - Selected #2 overall by the Atlanta Hawks. Chris Paul, Deron Williams, Andrew Bynum, Danny Granger, and David Lee
8. Jay Williams - Selected #2 overall by the Chicago Bulls. Amare Stoudemire, Caron Butler, Carlos Boozer, and Tayshaun Prince were all taken later in that draft.
7. Kwame Brown - Selected #1 overall by the Washington Wizards. Notable players taken later in that draft include Tyson Chandler (#2), Pau Gasol (#3), Shane Battier (#6)Jason Richardson (#5), Joe Johnson (#10), Richard Jefferson (#13), Troy Murphy (#14), Zach Randolph (#19), Brendan Haywood (#20), Gerald Wallace (#25), Samuel Dalembert (#26), Tony Parker (#28), Gilbert Arenas (#31), and Mehmet Okur (#38).
6. Michael Olowakandi - Selected #1 overall by the Los Angeles Clippers. Mike Bibby, Antawn Jamison, Vince Carter, Dirk Nowitzski, and Paul Pierce were all taken later in the top 10.
5. Vitaly Potapenko - Selected #12 overall by Cleveland. Why would I include a #12 pick on this list? Because the next 3 players taken were Kobe Bryant, Peja Stojakovic, and Steve Nash.
4. Joe Smith - Selected #1 overall in the 1995 draft by Golden State. The next four picks were Antonio McDyess, Jerry Stackhouse, Rasheed Wallace, and Kevin Garnett.
3. Darko Millicic - Selected #2 overall in the 2004
2. Dennis Hopson - Selected 3rd overall in the 1987 draft by New Jersey.
1. Sam Bowie - Selected 2nd overall in the 1985 draft by Portland. The 3rd pick was Michael Jordan. Charles Barkley (5th) and John Stockton (16th) were both selected later in the
